The first is planning, which identifies problems and comes up with solutions. Second is system analysis & requirements.

It considers what it will take to solve the problem. The next step is systems design, which describes any necessary items needed to solve the problem. The fourth step is development, which is where production begins. Then, it needs to be integrated and tested. From there, the cycle can be implemented and fine-tuned.

The reason why we say to build a computer based information system is; Computer based information systems are software and hardware solutions aimed at automating manually processed data, it aims to increase production and efficiency in any organizations daily operations. Therefore in order to provide these solutions one must follow the guidelines of the SDLC.
