A network is two or more computers that are linked together. The network may include printers, servers and other devices, as well. They are linked by telephone lines, cables, satellites, infrared light beams, or radio waves. Wireless networks are connected by access points.

There are local area networks for those that are geographically close to each other. These are very simple to set up. Wide area networks can be connected across the globe and users can even communicate via webcam. A wide area network is much more complex and requires a variety of routers and bridges.
