The country of Greece is surrounded by a variety of waterways and contains many islands and mountains. The Ionian Sea is found on the western coast of Greece and shares a boundary with Italy. The Aegean Sea is along the eastern and northern coast of Greece and also touches Turkey.

The Thracian Sea is also between these two countries. The Sea of Crete is the lower part of the Aegean Sea and makes a flat, oval shape. Finally, the Gulf of Corinth, one of the most popular tourist spots, contains a canal which connects it to the Aegean Sea.
