Nursing homes undergo yearly inspections. They are required to keep the results of this inspection on hand. Nursing homes need to be in compliance with the Medicare laws. If there are problems with this compliance, they may lose their funding. These problems need to be based on actual observations, not simply a comment from a resident or their family.

This ensures that the claim is correct and true, and a survey report form will then be filed. The facility is given a timeline for making the improvements and a follow-up will be scheduled. These results are also found on the Medicare website.
