C. It provides the model for the classic American rags-to-riches story. The Autobiography of Benjamin Franklin was an unfinished record that narrates the remarkable story of a self-made man. It was of course written by Benjamin Franklin (Autobiography) and it was written from 1771 to 1790.

Even though the work was obviously an autobiography of Benjamin Franklin, he preferred calling it his Memoirs. The Autobiography details Benjamin Franklin’s life experiences, which he divided into four parts, each reflecting a different period of time in his life and even though the history of the publication of these records of his life had been tortuous, his life record became one of the most influential autobiographies ever written.
