The correct answer to this question is Black, or Red. All line voltage has three conductors. One of those three is the hot wire. It is used to provide a 120 VAC current source. The other three conductors are called neutral and ground wires. Neutral wires are white, and ground wires are copper.

Along with having different names and colors, they also have different purposes. Neutral wires work with the current from the hot wires and provide it with a return path. Ground wires are connected to the earth. They are connected by a ground conductor or directly to the ground.
