Handwashing is essential because it eliminates germs from a person's hands. Many people would think a doctor would be the main people washing their hands but studies done over the years show the contrary.

The World Health Organization conducted a study in 2013, which showed that doctors washed their hands 60% of the time, while nurses washed their hands much more at 71%. Since this research, educational methods have been put in place to remind doctors that they need to wash their hands and repeating their importance.
