Louis Pasteur disproved that life arises from non-living things which are known as spontaneous generation. He performed an experiment using a swan neck flask to confirm that life does not come from non-living things. He found out that life, in fact, comes from previously existing organisms known as biogenesis. For example, if you leave a slice of raw meat on a table for a long period of time, it is the bacteria present in the meat and also the microorganisms present in the air that will cause the meat to rot and decay.
