Louis Pasteur disproved that life arises from non-living things which are known as spontaneous generation. He performed an experiment using a swan neck flask to confirm that life does not come from non-living things. He found out that life, in fact, comes from previously existing organisms known as biogenesis. For example, if you leave a slice of raw meat on a table for a long period of time, it is the bacteria present in the meat and also the microorganisms present in the air that will cause the meat to rot and decay. It is this theory that is currently accepted: )
