Analyze this primary source of a Spanish missionary in Mexico describing the effects of smallpox on the Aztecs:"There was a great havoc. Very many died of it. They could not walk. They could not move; they could not stir; they could not change position, nor lie on one side; nor face down, nor on their backs. And if they stirred, much did they cry out. Great was its destruction." - Bernardino De Sahagun, quoted in Seeds of Change

In the primary source above, the effects of smallpox and possibly other communicable diseases enable Native American to go about their daily functions, such as, move, stir, or change positions. This unforeseenable exchange from Europeans to the Americas devastated the life of a once populated and functionable Aztec civilization according to Bernardino De Sahagun.

The Spanish missionary in Mexico had many effects. Smallpox injured the Aztecs and left them to die on the floor in pain.
