What is the process called that changes fibres into yarn?

The process of changing fibers into yarn is called spinning. Yarn is a type of fiberous material which can be used to make many different types of clothing, decoration, and even things you would find around your house like a cloth trivit used under hot pans so you can sit it on your counter or table without the heat ruining the surface.

The process of spinning relies largely upon the friction of the fibers to stick together to smform thicker strands of durable material- yarn. Humans have been spinning yarn through out all of time in order to make clothing and other goods.
