The first amendment is based on religion and expression. The law states that there will be no law that can prohibit the free exercise of expression of views or compromise the freedom of speech or the press. In addition, congress cannot prohibit the right of people to assemble peacefully. All these different laws are in place to prevent oppression of the population.

The police cannot oppress the people who are peacefully protesting against the government’s decision. By Interfering and breaking up the demonstration of protestors, the police is violating the first amendment rights of the people and should be subject to strict disciplinary action.
