When the president was running for presidency during his or her campaign, he or she selects a vice president to be that role when the president wins the presidency. Even though they do have an important job, they have a tendency to take a back seat to the president. As a matter of fact, their job and duties are not as known as the president’s.
However, the vice president of the United States does have two main jobs to do. One job is to cast a vote if the Senate is tied in a decision for something. Recently, the vice president Mike Pence was the deciding factor when Betsy Devos was about to be the United States Secretary of Education. The other job is to oversee the Electoral College.
