Peer to Peer networking is when networking is able to communicate with other components by sending messages through a process. Peer to Peer is also known as P2P in which it divides the jobs or tasks among the peers. Every peer is equal. The storage and other elements that peers own are available to the others. Peer to Peer began in 1999 through Napster.

This allowed people to come together on the Internet link directly. When the world wide web was created through Tim Berners-Lee, there were thoughts of a peer to peer network. However, it didn’t happen until later. There are concerns with those on peer to peer networks and it is due to the security associate with such a network.
