Is having a law degree from your home country useless when you've moved to a new country?

No, not necessarily. Each country has different laws regarding the status of law degree from foreign judiciaries.

Law happens to be one of the only fields that cannot be practiced in foreigncountries.Saudi Arabia, for example, does not allow any foreign lawyers to conduct judicial roles in the country.

If you are from countries that are part of the CommonWealth, you can practice in those countries due to similar laws and judicial structures. All you need to do is give specific examinations to get licenses of that particular country. This means that a person with an Indian law degree can work in England and Vice Versa.

Some foreign lawyers can be asked for assistance and be called to other countries but it is for the very high ups and acclaimed lawyers only. There are overseas courts too but you need a reputation to be a part of them
