There is only one asymmetric carbon. An asymmetric carbon is also known as a chiral carbon. This is attached to four different types of atoms. At times, it is connected to four different groups of atoms. It is always important to know the different chemical bonds because it will help you understand the reaction that the atoms do from time to time.

Without these bonds, it will not be possible for certain items to remain the same. There might also be some reactions that will not occur if the bonds will not take place. This may not be a topic that everyone can enjoy but it can be more fascinating in the long run.
