Construction managers have a lot of responsibility, and they handle a wide range of complex tasks. As such, there are quite a few requirements involved in becoming one.

First and foremost, you’ll need to finish your high school education or get your GED. You’ll also need a Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management. There are other ways to get into the profession, but this is the most effective and most direct. You can get that degree from prestigious universities and community colleges throughout the country.

Once you have both of those, it’s time to start getting experience. You’ll need four years of construction management experience before you can become a Certified Construction Manager. That’s according to the requirements established by the Construction Management Association of America. You can learn more about the requirements by reading this guide.
