1. To find the length of the hypotenuse, there are different methods you can use. However, the most common method is by using the Pythagorean theorem.

2. The Pythagorean theorem can easily be explained with right-angle triangles. It states that the hypotenuse of a right triangle with sides x and y can easily be calculated using z² = x² + y², where z is the hypotenuse.

3. Like I said earlier, this method can only work for the right triangle, so try to locate the opposite and the adjacent of the triangle.

4. Let's use a question to explain this better. Say the opposite and the adjacent of a right triangle have the values 4 and 3, respectively. Then, using the Pythagorean theorem, z² = x² + y² = 3² + 4²= 9 +16= 25, z²= 25.

5. Find the square root of 25; the answer is 5. Therefore, the length of the hypotenuse is 5.
