There are different ways to type a subscript, most especially when you have different devices. However, the following steps should be taken to type a subscript when working on your Microsoft word on your computer:

1. Open a new document, or open any saved document to insert a subscript. With this step, you will be able to type a subscript using the toolbar of Microsoft Word.

2. Once you are able to open the document and you have already typed some words, the right thing to do to type a subscript using this method is to highlight the word you wish to turn to subscript. Highlight the word by selecting it.

3. Try to locate the Home tab and click it. If you don't know where the home tab is located, just look at the top section of the document.

4. Click the subscript icon under the home toolbar. Doing this will make any word you are typing next to be a subscript.
