The range of a function is a range of numbers that are produced by the function.

It is the set of y values you get when you plug all of the possible x values into the function.

• The x values are called the domain.

• Say that you come up with a formula f(x) =3x2 + 6x -2, and when you put any x into the equation, you will get your y value.

• Solve for Y
• F (x) = 3x2 + 6x -2
• F (-1) = 3 (-1)2 + 6(-1) -2
• = 3 (1) + (-6) -2
• = 3 – 6 – 2
• Y = -5

There are definitely a few steps that you need to take when you want to find the range of a function.

These steps are the following:

• You need to write down y=f(x).

• You should then try to solve for the equation of x.

• This means that you will come up with something like x=g(y).

• Find the domain of g(y) then get the range of f(x).

• If you cannot solve for x, you would need to try graphing so that you can come up with the answer.

If you already know all of the details, there are also some online calculators that you can try that will provide you with the answer that you are searching for.

In math, the range of a function is a set of numbers that the function is capable of producing.

To find the range of a function, follow these steps.

• First, write down the formula. This will help you down the line, for when you have the x value, you can find the y

• Next, find the function's vertex. This step only has to be done if it is quadratic

• Then, find other points that are in the function.

• From the graph, find the range. Do so by looking at the y coordinate and the lowest point it meets the vertex

Finding the range of a function can be a bit complicated in the beginning, especially if you do not know what this is for. When you do this, you are searching for the values that y could be. These are the steps that you have to take:

Finding the range of a function can be a bit complicated in the beginning, especially if you do not
• The range of f(x) is different of y−values where x will be with y.
• This means that y=f(x).
• Now that you know how you are going to do this, you can just choose to place all of the numbers that you need to put in.
• There are also times when you would need to solve for x if you do not have all of the details that are available just yet.

If in case you are having a hard time solving for x, the best thing that you can do is to graph the function so that you can start finding the range.
