The various processes to follow when formatting an SD card depend greatly on the device you are using.

However, you will learn how to format an SD card on Windows.

1. The first thing you should do is to insert the SD card into your PC. There is a wide slot around your computer where the SD card will be inserted.

2. Open the file explorer on your computer. If you are not too sure of how to do this, use the search bar to find the file explorer.

3. On the file explorer, you will see something like "My Computer," then click it.

4. Below the "Devices and drives," you will be able to click on the name of your SD card, after which you click the "Manage tab."

5. You should see the format icon in the top-left side of the window, click on it to open the format window.

6. Check the page very well; you will see the "File System" box, then click on it.

7. A drop-down menu will show up with different options, select an appropriate format, then click start. A prompt will show, then click OK.

Formatting an SD card is important whether you have a new SD card or you would like your old SD card to be like new.

These are the steps that you have to take to make this possible:

• Go to settings and choose Device Care.

• Choose storage.

• Tap on Advanced Settings.

• Go to Portable Storage

• Look for SD Card and select it.

• Tap format

• There will be a message that will appear telling you about what’s going to happen. Choose “Format SD Card.”

• There might be another message prompt that will help you confirm what you are about to do.

Once you do these steps, you just have to wait for your SD card to be formatted. There may be some small changes depending on what device you are going to format the SD card in.
