Letters are used to communicate information, affection, and goodwill. Knowing how to write a letter is a fundamental skill you will need in school, business, and personal relationships.

There are two types of letters formal and informal letters. Formal letters are letters you write to a close friend or relative while the informal letter is a letter you write to someone in a professional capacity.

Here is a tip on how to write an informal letter which is very common

1. Decide how your formal letter needs to be, this depends on your relationship with the recipient.

2. Start with a salutation like dear or hello.

3. Write the body of your letter by writing what is needed to be communicated.

4. End your letter with sincerely, regards or best, etc.

5. Insert it into an envelope.

Writing letters can be considered to be something that people do not do anymore. Yet, you have to remember that this is still necessary at this time. Some of the letters that will be sent are already digital, but they are still being sent properly.

These are the things that you have to do:

• Place your full address on the upper left-hand corner.

• Always place the date of the letter as this is important for reference.

• Insert the greeting.

• Explain the intent of the letter.

• Do not forget to properly explain why you are writing the letter.

• Conclude the letter.

• End with closing remarks.

Hopefully, you will be able to create letters that will make your intentions clear.

It is important to note that there are different types of letters. However, the steps to take to write one will be based on how to write a formal letter.

1. The first thing that should appear on the page of a letter is the address of the writer, followed by the date directly below the address. This address should be on the right-hand side of the page.

2. Since you are writing this letter to someone, a company, or an authority, you will need to also put the address of the receiver directly below the date. This address should be on the left-hand side of the page.

3. The next thing you should do is to acknowledge or salute the receiver by using the word "Dear" with their title or full name.

4. Put the subject of the letter on a straight after the salutation before going into the body of the letter.

5. Start the letter by stating the reason why you are writing the letter. Your words, when writing a formal letter, must be precise.

6. For the closing part, you can use words such as yours truly, sincerely, or gratefully to end the letter with a comma and put your signature and your full name under it.
