There are instances when you will be required to compute for velocity, and it can be a problem when you do not know how to do it.

There are instances when you will be required to compute for velocity, and it can be a problem when
These are the steps that you have to do so that you can compute for velocity:

• Divide the distance by the time.

• Take note that you have to take into consideration the number of times that it would take before you reach a certain distance.

• The next thing that you have to do is to take direction into consideration.

• The usual formula for velocity is: v = Δs/Δt

• Just place the corresponding numbers that are needed to come up with the answer.

With all of these things in mind, you will be able to compute for the velocity of almost anything.

There are different ways of calculating velocity.

There are different ways of calculating velocity.

1. The velocity of an object moving at constant
1. The velocity of an object moving at constant acceleration can be calculated by adding the initial and final velocity and dividing them by 2. Say Vf is the final velocity and Vi is the initial velocity, the velocity of the object can be calculated using V= vi+vf/2, where V is the average velocity.

2. At times, the velocity of an object can also be calculated by determining the change in position from point A to B. For instance, say a traveling object due north starts at position y= 10m, and the object is at position y=40m after the 20s, then the object was displaced by 30m.

3. Use the formula "vf= vi + at" to calculate the velocity of an accelerating object. For instance, let's say the value of "a" is given as 15m/s 2, vi= 5 m/s, and you are asked to calculate the velocity of the object at time t= 4s.

4. Substitute the values for all the parameters as given in the question. vf= vi + at= 5 + (15×4) = 5 + 60 = 65 m/s, then vf= 65 m/s.
