An outline is used to organize written ideas or information about a topic into a logical or hierarchical order. An outline for the research paper is used to make assessing the information easy and fast. A good outline makes your research work more efficient by helping you organize your thought, understand the flow of information, and ensure everything is in place.

To create an outline for your research paper, follow the steps below;

1. Your thesis statement should be at the beginning. Your thesis statement is your topic.
2. List your major points. You can label them in a roman numeral to make them clearer.
3. Use capital letters to label your supporting ideas or arguments for each major point.
4. If your supporting idea has other ideas you can continue to subdivide by using numbers or small letters. (A, b, c….)

You know that you would like to create a good research paper, but you honestly do not know where to begin.

* The first thing that you have to do is to decide on what your topic is going to be.

* Once you have decided, create a thesis statement.

* List all of the major points that you would like to include in your thesis.

* Create some supporting ideas for every major point that you are going to make.

* You would need to know how you can subdivide all of the different ideas that you have.

Once you have finalized the outline, that is the time when you can start writing. You may need to make drafts first before you are able to make a research paper that you can be happy with, but this is possible for sure.

• Outline serves as a way of organizing information in a logical order. In research papers, a good outline would go a long way in keeping track of a large amount of information. The following are steps to take in creating a good outline for a research paper.

• The first thing to do is to place the thesis statement at the beginning of the writing.

• The next is to list out the major point which supports the thesis and then label them in the Roman numeral format.

• For each major point, list proposition or arguments list arguments, ideas, or propositions that support them in capital letters.

• After all these have been done, then continue to subdivide each of the supporting ideas that have been listed until the outline is fully and well developed.

• Label the subdivided supporting is an idea with figures such as 1, 2, 3, etc. then a, b, c.

An outline is the most important part of the research paper, because it gathers all of the notes and ideas together before forming the paper.

To write a research paper,

• First, have the thesis already written. It will be added at the beginning of the outline.

• Then, list major points that are in support of this thesis.

• Each point should be labeled with a Roman Numeral.

• After each point, supporting arguments should be written with a capital letter, I.E. A, B, C.

• If any sub points need to be written, they can be labeled in numerical form.
