Do you know that there are different types of quinoa available? A lot of people are not aware of this but this is true. The most common type of quinoa is white quinoa. This is the usual type that you will be able to get from the grocery. Another type of quinoa that you may want to try is the red quinoa.

In terms of nutritional value, they are just the same. The main difference between the two is their appearance. If you would like to make salads with the use of quinoa, you are recommended to use red quinoa because they will look better alongside the other ingredients that you are planning to use.

Take note that red quinoa will slightly have more fiber and carbs as compared to the white one. It will still depend on you which one you think will work best for your needs.

Many people are discovering quinoa, because it is a healthy food alternative. It has many healthy benefits, such as being rich in protein and containing various nutrients such having a high amount of iron, calcium, and vitamins A and B. There are many colors that quinoa can come in. Two of those colors are white and red.

White quinoa is the regular quinoa. Though it is called white, is is similar to the color light gold. The red quinoa is known as Inca red. Though it is called red, it is more brown in color. The red quinoa is more bitter than the white.

The white quinoa is popular referred to as the regular quinoa, but the Inca red is what they call the dark red quinoa. There are over a hundred kinds of quinoa, but the white quinoa and the red quinoa are still the ones cultivated the most.

Two types of quinoa are the most common of all. Cooking the quinoa will show you one of its disparities. The color of the quinoa after cooling utterly depends on which quinoa you cooked. When they are cooked, the color of the white quinoa changes to light gold, while the color of the dark red quinoa changes to medium brown.

When white quinoa is cooked, it will look like white rice, but the dark red one will look like brown rice. The taste of each kind of quinoa is a little bit different too. The white and red quinoa will be a little more elusive when you give it a taste.

Quinoa is a known staple food that that is very rich in protein, and its seeds also contain some other nutrients like vitamin A, vitamin B, iron, and calcium. Quinoa seeds actually come in several colors, which include white, red, purple, black, and orange. Likewise, Quinoas also differ in colors, ranging from white to black, and red.

The white quinoa is also referred to as the regular quinoa, while the dark red quinoa is also referred to as Inca red. Another thing that forms the difference between the two is the color they turned to after being cooked and cooled.

The Inca red tends to form a brown color, while the white quinoa has a form of light gold color. Also, when you eat the red quinoa raw, it tastes bitterer compared to the white quinoa. Animals actually prefer to feed on the white quinoa than the red quinoa, while humans prefer to feed on the red quinoa.

Some people assume that red and white quinoa are just the same, but they do have some differences that will make you choose one over the other. Red quinoa will have a heavier texture as compared to white quinoa. It will also have a flavor that will be considered stronger than white quinoa.

Most people would say that red quinoa will come with a “nuttier” flavor as compared to white quinoa. Aside from red and white quinoa, another type of quinoa that people would like to try out is black quinoa. There is just something about this type of quinoa that is a bit different. The taste is definitely sweeter as compared to both red and white quinoa.
