Although getting "stoned" and "high" are words that are used mostly by those who like taking hard drugs to express their feelings after taking these drugs. Getting stoned is completely different from getting high because each stage of this intoxication comes with different feelings. Before going into their differences, the first state one enters after taking any addictive substances is usually described with the word "buzz," while "high" and "stoned" represent the second and third states, respectively.

The major difference between the two is the feelings associate with the two states. After getting excited from the "buzz" state to the "high" state, the feelings an individual tends to have are similar to when you have a deep rush of euphoria, or when your physical energy is raised.

On the other hand, what it means to be stoned is when you start to have a gradual come back from your heightened state of intoxication to a more relaxed state. Most people, when they get stoned, begin to feel lethargic.

Stoned and high are examples of words that are used to describe one's feelings or people's feelings after taking substances like alcohol, weed, or drugs. When you have too much of these substances in your body system, they are capable of inducing the brain towards producing actions that are characterized by intense feelings, high energy, mood swing, happy feelings, etc.

One of the major differences between "stoned" and "high" is that "high" is the second stage of this excitement state after "buzz," which is the first excitement or euphoric state, while "stoned" is the third stage of this excitement state. The euphoric feelings that are produced when someone gets high after taking drugs are replaced with calmness and lethargic feelings when someone gets stoned. A person that is high on drugs can still crave drugs because he hasn't reached the climax of these euphoric feelings, whereas when someone gets stoned, it has reached the climax and he begins to feel calm, unmoving and relaxed.
