While science and technology work together and are often confused with one another, there are many differences between the two. Science is various branches of learning that can be used to get more knowledge. There are many branches of science, which include psychology, chemistry, biology, and physics.

To understand science, one needs to be disciplined in obtaining knowledge because science is knowledge-based. Technology is more of action-based learning, for it is using the knowledge you gained and using it in a practical way. An example is an electricity. Science is explaining the concept of electricity, while technology is applying it to use the electricity.

The terms science and technology have so much been used to the point that many use them as synonyms. While both are truly related in some ways, there are also some differences between the two terms. Science can be explained in so many ways, but you can think of it as a process that seeks knowledge or the reason behind the occurrence of natural phenomena.

Therefore, science refers to a branch of learning or a particular discipline that deals with systematic and measurable principles, laws, and theories. For instance, science will always ask questions about certain natural events in a bid to know a lot of things about them.

However, the application of this knowledge to proffer solutions to human problems is what is known as technology. Science uses so many processes to gain knowledge on a particular phenomenon, whereas the practical application of these findings is known as technology. While science does not change, technology is subject to change.

Science and technology are typically two terms that work hand in hand, just like husband and wife. Starting from the definition, Science refers to a piece of particular systematic knowledge, a branch of learning, or discipline that deals with principles after some tests and proofs mist have been made, rather than an intuition or just natural phenomenon.

The subjects with which science employed in approaching matters include biology, psychology, physics, and chemistry. On the other hand, technology is more of applied science. It refers more to the use of knowledge and tools, which is the combination of practical with the theoretical knowledge to solve some scientific problems.

Science moves more towards acquiring knowledge, while technology deals more with making something or developing something for the use of man. The end product of science might not really be tangible, but technology usually produces tangible results. Science focuses more on theoretical analysis, while technology focuses more on design analysis.

Most times, we get confused as to what is the relationship between technology and science. There is no doubt, the two terms are connected in one way or the other, but there are still some differences between the two. Science simply refers to all branches of learning based on the use certain systemic principles or methods in a bid to create or gain more knowledge about something.

The various branches of science are physics, chemistry, biology, and psychology, etc. On the other hand, technology is the organization of knowledge gotten through science for practical purposes. We can say science is a knowledge-based discipline, while technology focuses more on turning the knowledge of science for practical purposes or uses.

For instance, while science has been able to explain how electricity can be generated, technology has helped us to know the various ways it can be generated. Invariably, we can say technology is an applied science.
