What do you call your grandparents?

For my grandparents on my father’s side of the family, I call my grandfather “lolo” and my grandmother “lola.” For my grandparents on my mother’s side of the family, I call my grandfather “papa” and my grandmother “mama.” Out of all my grandparents, it is only my “lolo” who is alive.

I feel sad that grandparents cannot live forever. I was particularly close to my grandmothers because they really treated me well. “Mama” used to cook so much food for me and every dish that she cooked was a labor of love.

I felt her love and care for me for every dish that she cooked. I will always remember the flavors of the items that she cooked. Even simple things then just seemed so good.
