Fiction can otherwise be classified as commercial fiction, which means that it sells to the general masses. Literary fiction is said to be of higher quality and more thought-provoking. Literary fiction focuses more on descriptive details. It appeals to a smaller audience, which is sometimes referred to as a cult audience because it is uniquely intellectual compared to fiction.
Fiction is all-encompassing, as it includes many different genres, such as humor, period pieces, romance, science, mystery, and horror. Literary fiction also has a wide array of variety. However, it is typically geared toward a specific type of person, rather than a particular type of audience the way fiction is.
Fiction is comprised of original and creative ideas that come to fruition on paper, while literary fiction is considered more mature.

Fiction is works of the mind that are bought on by a person's imagination. It is a story that is not true. There are two types of fiction. There is the standard fiction, often known as genre fiction, and then there is literary fiction. The standard fiction includes many genres, such as romance, horror, and science. Literary fiction is any type of fiction that does not fit into any box or genre. Standard fiction is seen as a form of entertainment. A person would read it to laugh or cry. On the other hand, a person would read literary fiction to gain a better understanding of something.
