It is easy to distinguish between dove and pigeon by just looking at them. Doves and pigeons are very calm and beautiful birds. These two birds are used as pets and hunted as food. They both belong to the Columbidae bird family. They are both used for appealing of gods; they are used as carriers of a message when there was no postal service, and they are used as a symbol of peace.

Doves are white; doves are smaller in size, and with a pointed tail. They are quiet when compared to pigeons. They feed on fruits and seeds while some species of doves such as quail and ground doves’ prey on worm and insects. Doves are more beautiful and calmer than pigeons.

Pigeons are grey or brown in color; they are bigger in size when compared to doves. Pigeons are nosier when compared to doves. Pigeons have around and large tail. All the species of pigeons feed on fruit and seeds. The largest species of pigeon is the crowned pigeon of the New Guinea, which is 2-4kg in weight.
