Meiosis 2 and Mitosis are two activities related to the function of cells. Meiosis 2 is the second step of Meiosis. During this step, the amount of chromosomes are decreased by half of them. Mitosis is apart of cell division and during this phase, the chromosomes will remain the same. Another difference between them is related to the parent cells.

The parent cells during Meiosis 2 are haploid. Meanwhile, the parent cells during Mitosis are diploid. They also differ in regards to interphase. During Meiosis 2, interphase does not occur. However, during Mitosis, interphase will happen before the process of Mitosis.
