The initial CJ jeeps came in the year 1944. While the YJ wranglers became the replacement for the CJ in 1987 because the manufacturers of CJ stopped production, though both the CJ and YJ jeeps possess a leaf spring suspension, the YJ has springs, which are very much wider than the springs of the CJ jeeps. The YJ is furnished with track bars and sway bars, which in turn accounts for its better handling capabilities, but the CJ is not equipped with such.
