Oracle and MySQL are both made by the Oracle Corporation, but this does not mean they are the same. In fact, the major difference between the two lies in their capabilities, although they share certain similarities when it comes to what the two are used for. First, Oracle is equipped with more features compared to MySQL. These additional features in Oracle enhance its capabilities and make it to be more powerful compared to MySQL. If you want to perform an operation that requires large transaction loads, Oracle is a better choice since it is capable of carrying more databases across multiple servers. In contrast, MySQL cannot be effective for this operation since it can only be used for the distribution of a single database across the network. Also, unlike Oracle that can restore the database to a previous state because of its 'save points' feature, MySQL doesn't support this. Another difference is that Oracle is used mostly by large-scale businesses, whereas MySQL is a perfect choice for small to medium scale.

Oracle and MySQL are two of the most popular modern relational databases. The Oracle Corporation developed both of them. The most noticeable difference between Oracle and MySQL is the fact that Oracle is superior to MySQL in performance. One of the best features of the Oracle is its ability to distribute large databases to multiple servers. This process makes it possible to deal with large transaction loads and to improve performance.

The MySQL program is limited to a single database and, as such, is not right for very large databases that are accessed multiple times per day. MySQL is limited to execute and rollback statements. Oracle supports the formation of programs that are inserted in the database by way of procedural language. The only disadvantage to Oracle is that the licensing costs that are needed to use the software are quite expensive.
