Geckos and Chameleons are two types of lizards, but they belong to different families. Geckos belong to the Gekkonidae family, whereas Chameleons belong to the Chamaeleonidae family. In terms of size, Geckos are small lizards, whereas Chameleons are big lizards. Although both are mostly seen in warm habitats, the differentiating characteristic of the two is that geckos are known for the chirping sounds they make.

There are about 600 species of geckos, but the various species of Chameleons that have been noticed are not up to 70. The reason for this might be due to the fact that geckos consist of three subfamilies. Another differentiating feature of the two animals is that chameleons have the ability to change the color of their body to that of their environment. Geckos can't do this, but they exist in different colors such as pink, blue, black, purple, etc. For this reason, geckos are usually regarded to be more colorful than any other type of lizard.

Geckos and chameleons are two different varieties of lizards. Geckos have a small build, while chameleons are rather large, and geckos are usually found in warm habitats. They are known for their sweet chirping sounds. Geckos consist of three subfamilies, and about 600 species of geckos are seen. On the other hand, there are about fifty species of chameleons that are observed. The most prominent distinction of the chameleon is its ability to transform their body colors.

They have the ultimate capability of camouflage. Its color depends upon the situation. Geckos are also seen in a wide array of colors. These include blue, purple, black, and pink. Chameleons have unusual mobile eyes, long tongues, prehensile tail, and crests which rest upon their little heads. Geckos, on the other hand, are known for their fused eyelids, about seventy-five percent of the species are nocturnal with vertical or narrow pupils. They also possess very long flat bodies, short necks, and sticky tongues.
