There are a lot of people who can sometimes become confused with the different things that made up the earth particularly the earth’s crust. Two of the crusts that are usually compared to each other are the oceanic crust and the continental crust.

The oceanic crust is known to be made out of dark basalt rocks. These are rocks that are made of different substances. You can expect that you will find magnesium and also silicon.

The continental crust is going to be made out of light-colored granite rocks. You can expect that there will be different substances such as silicon and oxygen. Between the two, the continental crust is older.
