There are a lot of people who find these theories to be a bit controversial. If you are interested, you would naturally want to know more details about it. The Kohlberg model is said to be based on males alone so this would not be considered to be too accurate in defining the morality of all human beings. There may also not be enough details that are available to help people understand how morality can be developed.

Gilligan knows about it and this explains why this particular model has been made. Kohlberg’s model is based on what society dictates or what society believes to be true. Gilligan’s model is based on how women handle relationships and how they are able to show their care.
