Are you familiar with BJT and FET? If yes, then you already know that they are transistors. Aside from being transistors, they are also semiconductors that will serve their purpose. BJT stands for Bipolar Junction Transistor while FET stands for Field Effect Transistor.

When it comes to speed, BJT is known to be faster as compared to FET. The main reason for this is the less capacitance that can be found at the control pin. FET is more heat tolerant, though, which can be very helpful depending on the type of working conditions that you will be in.

FET has components that will stop this from overheating, while the negative temperature coefficient of BJT makes it more susceptible to overheating.
