Innate and Adaptive immunity are types of immunity available. As their names imply, innate immunity is found in the body since birth, while adaptive immunity is developed while during a lifetime. Innate immunity is always present in the body, while adaptive immunity is developed only when there is an exposure of antigens. Innate immunity is always leading to defend the immune system while the adaptive immunity rise against pathogens that can defeat the innate immune defense. Adaptive immunity is the type of immunity that develops whenever there is a foreign object that tries to enter the body. This means that if there is something that is recognized by the immune system as bad for the body, it will immediately be engulfed so that it can be killed and removed from the system. Once the body has the antigen immunity, this will be available for life.
