AID (Acquired immunodeficiency syndrome) and herpes are both known as sexually transmitted diseases. It is very obvious that AIDS is a more serious condition when compared to herpes. AIDS can be contracted sexually and through non-sexual acts like blood transfusion, sharing of sharp objects, and vaginal secretion. AIDS affects one’s immune system and also weakens it.

Herpes, on the other, is caused by two viruses, namely HSV1 (herpes simplex virus one), and the other is HSV2. Herpes does target the immune system. There are medications in which the client/patient can take to control the condition and lower the chances of passing it to another. The time may come when people may die not because of AIDS but because their body is unable to fight off the different diseases that they have to combat because of their weakened immune system. Herpes is known to be caused by two potential viruses. Herpes will not target the immune system although there are still some medications that are needed to keep the condition under control.
