Business is what makes a difference in this world, may that be for good or bad and that's what I love about that.

The lockdown in India which is arguably the largest in the world at least for now, has again been extended for the second time. The first extension which was the second phase of the lockdown was declared on April 14 and lasted for 19 days. The second extension has been declared and it is expected to last till May 17.

The only thing that will determine whether the lockdown will be extended again is the decision of the government, and this will be based on two things. First, the reason for the second extension that was declared is because more coronavirus cases are being recorded on daily basis.

So, if India is able to flatten the curve of coronavirus infections before May 17, the lockdown might not be extended any further again. If otherwise, the Indian government will have to decide whether the country can cope with the economic impacts of this pandemic if the lockdown is extended again.

It has not yet been announced whether the lockdown in India will be extended or not. So far, the date for phase 2 to end is May 3. As the lockdown has been implemented in phases, there may be a phase 3. If this occurs, some restrictions will ease, but the country may still be on lockdown.

Although the numbers in India have been decreasing, it is important to keep social distancing because the virus is still around. Along with that, it is expected to return later this year, so social distancing will reduce the number of cases that are seen in the second wave.
