Double Data Rate 3(DDR3) and (GDDR3) Graphics Double Data Rate are types of standard computer memory. DDR3 is a type of RAM memory used for system memory; it is the main storage of a processor. The DDR3 comes in a standardized module with specific capacities and can be replaced. The DDR3 memory address cannot be read or written while the GDDR3 is a RAM memory used in graphics cards to store graphics data and texture.

The GDDR3 is much faster and expensive than the DDR3. It is faster because of its ability to read and write in the same cycle. The graphics card is used mainly by graphics card makers like ATI and NVidia. The GDDR3 comes in chips while DDR3 is in modules.

In a standard computer, there are many types of memory employed. The two examples of memory include GDDR3 and DDR3, which stands for Double Data Rate. This storage is one type that is used for system memory, which is the primary storage for the processor. On the contrary, GDDR3 is another type of memory, and the G stands for Graphics. This type of memory used in graphics store textures and other graphic information.

Graphics cards transfer a lot of information around, and it’s needs are not the same as that of the processor. It is because of this that graphics cards need memory that is much faster than what the processor needs. System memories vary from 4GB and higher, while graphics memories are still at 1GB or lower. The main reason why GDDR3 is faster is because of its ability to do a read and write within the same cycle.

There are basically two types of memory, which are usually confused with each other: they are DDR3 and GDDR3. DDR3 stands for Double Data Rate 3 is the type used for system memory; it also serves as the main storage for the processor. While GDDR3, on the other hand, is another kind of memory, and the "G" stands for Graphics. GDDR3 is the type of memory that is used in graphics cards for storing textures and some other graphic data.

DDR3 is the type of RAM usually used for the system memory; GDDR3, in contrast, is used for graphics cards. GDDR3 memory is actually faster than the DDR3 memory. GDDR3 memory is also costlier when its price is compared to the DDR3 memory. Memory addresses for DDR3 cannot be read and written at once, while that of GDDR3 can be read and written at once. GDDR3 is in chips, but DDR3 comes in modules.
