Under the agreed-upon guidelines between WHO and other organizations, they had to come up with a name that did not refer to any certain geographical location, an animal, an individual group of people and which also was pronounceable and was somehow related to the disease.

COVID-19 is the shortened version of referring to the coronavirus disease. COronaVIrus Disease. The capital letters in the example provided are symbolization of the virus. 19 is in the abbreviation, because that is when the virus was first known.

However, the massive outbreak did not occur until 2020. The name came from the WHO, which is the World Health Organization. It was crucial for them to come up with a name fast so that it would deter from any other names to be used in a demeaning or inaccurate fashion. Along with that, if we have any other coronavirus outbreaks in the future, we can differentiate them by the year at the end.

The simple term COVID-19 stands for Corona (CO) Virus (VI) Disease (D) and 19(2019), which is the year of its first hit.

Coronavirus was reported to the World Health Organization on December 31. The reason why Coronavirus was named COVID-19 is to prevent the use of other names, which can be inaccurate or stigmatizing the name given did not refer to any geographical location, and animals, and an individual, or even group of people.

This also makes the name pronounceable and related to the disease, and the World Health Organization initiated this idea.

Experts have said that the name of the disease is instrumental during the outbreak. The outbreak of the disease has rapidly evolved with the World Health Organization labeling COVID-19 as a global pandemic.

One of the terms that people use, whenever they would like to refer to Coronavirus, is COVID 19. This has made a lot of people feel confused. The main reason why this has gotten its name is due to the fact that Co comes from Corona; Vi comes from Virus; D comes from Disease, and finally, 19 comes from the year 2019 because this was the year when the virus first hit.

There was a time when not everyone thought that this would be a deadly disease. In fact, people thought in the beginning that they would only need to self isolate for about seven days before they will be well enough in order to go out again, but the virus has shown that it is not as weak as people thought that it would be. It has managed to kill a lot of people worldwide.

A lot of people may sometimes get confused as to why Coronavirus is also called as COVID 19. One of the reasons why it has gotten its name is due to the fact that it was called the 2019 novel coronavirus. The coronavirus has actually been around since the 70s and there are already a lot of strains of this disease that the world has seen in the past.

It just so happens that this strain right now is considered to be deadlier than all of the other strains that the world has seen before. This is considered to be a pandemic now and a lot of people are panicking about this and its possible impact on the world.

COVID-19 stands for coronavirus disease 19. The number 19 indicates the fact that the disease was first detected in 2019, though the outbreak occurred in 2020. The World Health Organization chose the name. Having a name matters to deter the use of other names that can be inaccurate, difficult, or stigmatizing.

It also gives us a standard format that we can utilize for any future coronavirus outbreaks. It was also essential to find a name that did not refer to a geographical location, animal, or individual or group, and it also has to be easy to pronounce. It must pertain to the disease itself.
