You may sometimes become confused with which cake mix you would like to purchase mainly because the cake mixes seem to be the same. A yellow cake mix will make use of whole wheat pastry flour. Aside from that, it will also use egg yolks. Some people would rather get a yellow cake mix with whole eggs.

You just need to read the packaging so that you can choose the one that will work best for your needs. The white cake mix is considered to be more basic. It will have the usual white flour, and it will also have egg whites. Some may use this if they do not like using the egg yolks for cake mixes. Sometimes, your choice would also depend on the recipe.
