Mood and Tone are two properties in literary works. Readers can easily distinguish between different authors just by considering the tone and mood created in their literary works. The tone is an atmosphere created by a writer when creating a particular story. It refers to the manner in which writing is expressed.

The tone of a piece of literature describes the attitude of the writer towards a subject. Most times, the writer's choice of words and construction is usually revealed through the tone created in a literary work.

There are so many adjectives that can be used to describe a tone; they include; amusing, bitterness, angry, seriousness, humorous, suspicious, etc. On the other hand, mood refers to the feeling or the emotional state you are subjected to while reading. People tend to have this feeling at the beginning of a story. This is usually a deliberate work of a writer to captivate the attention of a reader.
