Some people may become confused about whether they have chlamydia or they are suffering from yeast infection. Chlamydia is a type of sexually transmitted disease that will cause different colored discharge.

For example, there are some who have green discharge while others will have yellow or white. With yeast infection, you will immediately know that this is the issue based on the discharge that is normally similar to cottage cheese.

Another thing that you will notice is that yeast infection is going to become worse if you do not do anything about it. If the skin infection is going to get worse, the area will continue to become inflamed. It is best to get yourself checked to be sure if you have chlamydia or yeast infection.

Chlamydia is the general name for any of the several common sexually transmitted diseases caused by an organism known as Chlamydia trachomatis. This infection is usually acquired by men and women who engage in unprotected sexual activities, but it can also be transmitted to infants. On the other hand, yeast infection is the name of infection usually caused a species of a single-celled fungus known as Candida albicans.

The results of this infection are commonly seen on the skin or mucous membranes. Although this infection is not a serious one, it can lead to other health conditions if an infected person has a very weak immune system. Unlike chlamydia that is caused by a bacterium, yeast infection is caused by Candida albicans, a species of yeast which is a fungus. Since bacteria are prokaryotic organisms, the cell type of Chlamydia trachomatis is a prokaryotic cell, while the cell type in Candida albicans is a eukaryotic cell.
