Clinical Thermometer has a range of 35° Celsius to 42° Celsius, on the other hand, laboratory thermometers have a range that is wider at -10° Celsius to 110° Celsius. Laboratory thermometers are more complex, and their results are more accurate when compared to clinical thermometers. A Clinical Thermometer is often used in many places like houses, clinics, hospitals, etc.

while laboratory thermometer is mainly used in the laboratory. Laboratory thermometers may be immersed partially or fully in liquids, while clinical thermometers may be placed in the armpit or mouth. As regards the mercury-filled devices, a clinical thermometer usually has kinks that prevent the backflow of mercury.

While lab thermometers do not need to stop such backflow actively. Clinical thermometers are very simple to use while the lab thermometers are complex. Due to the simplicity of clinical thermometers, almost anybody can be taught how to use a clinical thermometer while lab thermometers are mainly used by individuals in the science field.
