Hunting should only be permitted to those who have obtained an official hunting license from the government, and it should only be done in areas in which hunting is allowed. It should also be said that hunters should not stalk or kill endangered or protected species.

If any of the limitations are not met, then it is illegal and is considered to be poaching. It must also be said that poaching is often done for the illegal trade of animal parts, such as hide, teeth, horn, ivory, and bone.

It is strictly done for trade or monetary gain. When someone is legally hunting and adhering to all of the restrictions placed, they are typically hunting for food.
