These two areas depend on how far they are from Europe. The Near East is Turkey and its surrounding areas. The term middle east is closer to the Near East than it was before. The Near East is made up of Israel and the surrounding Arab nations. The term Middle east was obtained as part of British colonial rule.

The middle East is composed of the region from the Mesopotamia to British India. The Near East is derived from the area near the Ottoman Realm, which is composed of Albania, Asia Minor, Greece, Cyprus, Bulgaria, Kosovo, Israel, Syria, and Jordon.
