There are a lot of people who are a bit confused about whether satire and sarcasm are the same. Satire is a type of literary method that is normally used whenever the main goal of the literary piece is to make people take action in a more positive manner. This means that people will find things humorous.

Sarcasm, on the other hand, is a type of statement that is normally used by people when they want to hurt another person or when they want to criticize another person for what the person has done. Sarcasm is usually thought of as something that is negative but this is something that people have from time to time towards another person.
