Asteroids are rocky objects which are sometimes called minor planets or planetoids. They are found in the asteroid belt, which is a region of the solar system that stays far away from the sun between the orbits of Mars and Jupiter.

However, not all asteroids are located inside the asteroid belt. The two sets of an asteroid called Trojan asteroids stay close to the Jupiter, one of them is 60 degrees ahead of Jupiter, and the other is 60 degrees behind Jupiter.

Asteroids are believed to be part of the early formation of the solar system that did not get enough mass to form into a spherical shape required to be considered a planet. There is also some asteroid coming close to the earth.
