There are different bonds that exist between atoms and people would like to know the differences between these different bonds. A covalent bond is known to be a bond that occurs between two non-metals. A metallic bond is known to be a bond that exists between two metals. An ionic bond is obviously the type of bond that exists between a metal and a non-metal.

The appearance of a covalent bond usually means that there is a sharing of electrons that have taken place. Metallic bonds usually mean that there are some strong attractions that have occurred between different items. Ionic bonds mean that transferring and accepting electrons from the valence shell is possible.
